Dal Pian Design is a project wanted by Vetrerie Dal Pian and born for the international design competition “Glass House Collection ‘13”, that saw the participation of designers from different countries in the world. Surrounded by the green hills of Asolo, Vetrerie Dal Pian is a handcraft company leader in the manufacture of clear-cut-flat glass. Our aim is to design furnishing that involve both the historical handicraft manufacturing of the company, proud of its highly consolidated know-how, and the best designers’ brands and the right inspiration on their fervent creativity and insights.
The appointed jury, composed of experts in this field, has thoroughly analyzed the projects proposed and unanimously picked the three winners. The main motivation in choosing the winners is related to the material allowed: the designers had to use only recycled and / or recyclable materials following the way we run our company with sustainable energy.
The question of eco-sustainability and the respect for nature, clearly mentioned in the notice-press of the competition, were at the heart of the challenge. That attracted more than 400 designers from 42 countries. The winning projects were previously exhibited at the prestigious “Milan Fuorisalone ‘13” inside the exclusive showroom “Superstudio Più”.
This initiative was well heild by the public and the media, that delighted their taste with the winning prototypes exhibited.
